garden growth

these garden beauties are my girls, irritated for facing the bright morning sun. the irises behind them are beautiful too! those are my red flowers at the benches' ends. geranium? I really have no idea, but they remind me of E.T. I don't think that's right though. they were pretty and they lived when I transplanted them. oh, a miracle!

remember that earlier post with the garden pots all over the living room? well, last week they all went outside into the ground. I really didn't think they were going to make it - and I still have my doubts about the bell peppers (so sad because I bought the pack with 6 different colors of bells in the mix!) - but, everything else is perking right up! the tomato plants are what you can see in the ground here in the first two boxes...

today the sun is shining in full glory and it's summer time in Michigan. I should be taking photos! but I picked some rhubarb (planted by previous owners) and I'm making an Irish crumble. Irish crumble! that's so important. we walked through the beds and the pumpkin, both pie and jack-o-lantern, are up. we have about 5 little corn shoots. the yellow, spaghetti and zucchini squash have all popped up. the cucumbers are doing great! the tomatoes are looking like they might need cages after all! the jalepeno are really doing well and we might even get a few eggplant. we need more photos, don't we? I'll get the crumble done and get out there again. any ideas for dinner? we have 2 avocados that need to be eaten tonight so I'm sure it will be Mexican.
